PROFILES OF THE PRINCIPALS

S. Vic Jones, Jr, Architect, President

S. Vic Jones, Jr., is founder, owner and president of our firm.  He was born, raised and educated in Atlanta, Georgia and received his Architectural degree from the STI division of Georgia Tech.  Mr. Jones is a veteran of the U.S. Army where he attained honor graduate degrees from the U.S. Corps of Engineers Academy at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.  He was first registered and licensed to practice Architecture in Texas in 1978, and is currently maintains registration in approximately 30 states.  In the mid-1970's, Mr. Jones worked in private practice in Wichita Falls, Texas and served with several Country Club development teams as the Design and/or Project Architect.  In 1979, he moved to Dallas to join the Club Corporation of America as a Project Architect in full-time Clubhouse design.  Approximately one year later, Mr. Jones accepted the position of Vice President and Director of Architecture at ClubCorp.  In 1986 Mr. Jones founded SVJ+ Clubhouse Architects and Interiors and continued to specialize in the design and development of Golf and Country Clubs, Health and Sports Clubs, Fine Dining Facilities, Spas, Resorts and supporting amenities.  Mr. Jones has been personally involved in quality Club projects in almost every state, as well as in France, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Mexico and Canada.  Altogether, Mr. Jones has participated in more than 530 Clubhouse project designs, more than any architect in the world. Mr. Jones has written numerous articles and presented several seminars concerning Golf Club design and development.  His work has been published in Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, Crittenden's Golf Inc., Club Management and Hospitality Design, among many others.  His Clubhouse designs and related projects have won numerous Architectural and design awards, including Builder Magazine's "National Community of the Year" award.  Mr. Jones is considered a leading authority in Clubhouse operations and efficiency design.  Mr. Jones and his three sons, Samuel, Adam and Joseph live at Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas and are active in golf, tennis, racquetball, boating, soccer, ice hockey, snow skiing and many other activities and hobbies.  They are also active members of The Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas.  The firm was founded in 1986 on faith, and the Lord has blessed our company and our staff with a consistent flow of wonderful clients and exciting projects. 

Thad R. Decker, Architect, Vice President

Mr. Thad R. Decker, Architect/ Interior Designer, is Vice President and Director of Production in our firm.  Mr. Decker was born and raised in west Texas and received his degree in Architecture from Texas Tech University.  He attended the Landscape Architecture Graduate School at the University of Texas at Arlington.  In 1985, Mr. Decker moved to the DFW area and joined a multi-disciplinary architectural firm in Arlington.  Mr. Decker joined SVJ+ in 1990. He is also personally involved in every project, where he contributes to all designs, directs the production of our drawings and other documentation and coordinates construction. Thad and his wife Lori have two children, Tade and Hallie.  The entire family is involved in golf, tennis, soccer, cheerleading and numerous hobbies and projects.
